College of Science and Engineering
Our mission is to train distinguished scientists and engineers through an approach governed by holistic education, while fostering an inclusive academic community for all of our faculty and students.
The College is made up of six programs at the undergraduate and master’s levels: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Life Science, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science and Information Engineering. Students may also pursue undergraduate studies in the Bachelor’s Program in Medical Informatics and Innovative Applications.
We offer two doctoral programs: one in chemistry and one through the Graduate Institute of Applied Science and Engineering.
The College has established two research centers: Biomedical and Photonic Interdisciplinary Research Center and the Software, Internet and Multimedia Research Center.
Mid-career professionals have the option of pursuing a degree through evening classes in the Bachelor’s Program in Software Engineering and Digital Innovation Applications or the In-Service Master’s in Information Engineering. Also created recently was the Bachelor’s Program in Medical Informatics and Health Technology, offered through the School of Continuing Education.
Both the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering were accredited by IEET (the Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan) in 2012.
