College of Management

College of Management

The Department of Industry and Business Management was founded in 1963 upon Fu Jen’s re-establishment in Taiwan. The next year, the program was renamed the Department of Business Administration and was transferred to the School of Law. This was followed by the establishment of the College of Business in 1969, before its being renamed as the College of Management in 1982.

The College of Management currently offers six undergraduate programs, seven master’s programs, eight in-service master’s programs, and one doctoral program.

Academic Mission and Goals

The College is committed to the educational philosophy espoused by FJCU. We train professional, ethical administrators to fulfill social and business needs through a basic approach of learning-by-doing. The College is always looking to make breakthroughs, whether it be through innovative research, diversifying pedagogical methods, or, more generally, putting our philosophy of service to the community into practice.

The outstanding learning environment that exists within the College is the product of combined efforts of students, faculty, and staff. We also believe in the importance of human-centered values, integrated knowledge, innovative thinking, and a global mindset.

Academic Features

Diverse and flexible course options: Basic management courses help students lay a professional foundation, while the College offers certificate programs to keep pace with an ever-evolving environment. Certificate programs allow students to develop a second expertise while developing interdisciplinary skills and knowledge.

Curriculum designed to encompass theory and practice: The College organizes many seminars and visits to businesses, offering students an up-close perspective on how industries operate as well as the chance to forge industry connections, while our internship programs form the ideal bridge to integrate theory with practice.

Global academic exchange: We have established dual degree programs with prestigious learning institutions around the world. These open students up to diverse learning environments and ensure the College stays on top of the latest developments in management education. Likewise, we actively promote exchange programs and mutual visits of faculty and students with international partners.

Outstanding Performance

  • We were accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for the first time in April 2005 and have been reaccredited in each cycle since then (2010, 2015).
  • The College of Management is the only such institute in all of Taiwan to have cracked the Eduniversal rankings for six consecutive years.
  • In 2009, we established the Master in Global Entrepreneurial Management triple-degree program with the University of San Francisco (USA) and Institut Quimic de Sarria (Spain).
