College of Art
The College of Art was founded in 1983. The sole program on offer at the time was the Department of Music, although the following year saw the emergence of the Department of Applied Arts – a first in Taiwan. The college building was officially completed in 1987, and the Department of Landscape Architecture was established two years afterward. In the 1990s, the college expanded into graduate studies with a view to enhancing the quality of research and scholarship produced by faculty and students. The MA Program in Music officially launched in 1996, with the MA in Applied Arts, MA in Landscape Architecture, In-Service MA in Music, and PhD in Music all following two years later.
The College is always looking to boost academic exchange with partners around the globe, incorporate technological advancements in the learning environment, and fulfill the holistic educational goals of the university by offering students a deeper understanding of themselves, the world, and God.
